ok as promised, i blogging in detail today about those 3 events mentioned in my post yesterday, so this is gonna be a long post..... but first.....a piece of shocking news! Liu Xiang, olympic and world champion in the 110m mens hurdles has withdrawn from the event in Beijing due to a supposedly injury! so this means that he would not be able to defend his title.....



first, the table tennis womens team final. yes, we lost to china 3-0, but i think that our paddlers have put in a tremendous effort to deny the chinese, although they failed in their attempt. still, i think that it's good that singapore has finally won their first olympic medal in 48 years! boy, i was so proud yesterday when i saw the singapore flag rising through the hall, and when i saw Ng Ser Miang, singapores IOC member present the medals to our paddlers! it was such a proud moment to witness! im sure all singaporeans that watched it must have felt very proud. ok anyway, it was one of proudest moments in singapores history.



secondly, to the mens singles badminton match. lee chong wei of malaysia(world no 2) vs lin dan (aka "super dan" which means super bullet) of china (world no 1). and again, the world no 2 loses to the world no 1 in straight sets, just like the table tennis match, when world no 2 singapore loses to world no 1 china in straight sets. lee chong wei was hoping to win his country, malaysia's, first olympic gold, but apparently failed to beat lin dan of china, who was aiming to win his first olympic gold.(fyi, lin dan lost to ronald susilo of singapore in the first round of the mens singles event in athens 2004) so anyway, lin dan was like totally mad when he beat lee chong wei. he threw his racket, he threw his shoes and waved and saluted to the crowd happily. (and his girlfriend, xie xingfang, also a world no 1 china badminton player who lost to zhang ning in the womens singles finals and got a silver was watching lin dan too.) anyway, so lee chong wei was disappointed and lin dan was happy. the end.



now to the event i have been looking forward to the most since last week when guo jingjing started being my idol. the 3m womens diving springboard event! yay! obviously, guo jingjing won the gold medal, in 415.35 points, scoring above 75 points in all her dives.(she scored 80 something in the first, second, third and last of her dives and a high 70 something in her fourth dive), winning her nearest competitor, sliver medalist Julia Pakhalina by 16.75 points! wu minxia, guo jingjing's diving partner, takes the bronze with 389.85 points. anyway, WELL DONE GUO JINGJING AND WE WILL ALWAYS BE BEHIND YOU NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO, WHETHER YOU RETIRE OR NOT.....BUT IT'S BETTER IF YOU DON'T RETIRE.....COS YOU ARE AT THE PEAK OF YOUR CAREER NOW.....anyway, i never regretted idolizing guo jingjing and i still keep firm to this belief of mine! guo jingjing shine and rock forevermore! may you always be the champion for whatever you do. be it in romance, career, friendship or whatever else. i will stay your fan!( seriously i dun think i will get bored of her so soon.....im seriously obsessed and addicted to her!) ok, to complete my post, i shall post a pretty, nice, perfect picture of guo jingjing in her victorious and glorious moment from the 3m womens diving springboard finals yesterday where she struck gold!
